Saturday Night
Fever - Frankfurt - 22.12.2006
Another show
in Frankfurt and this time I was really in for a surprise - a very special
guest appearance I certainly hadn't expected!
A little less
people in the audience this time but still quite well sold considering it
was the Friday before christmas eve.
Tony
Manero: Felix Maximilian
Surprise
number one! Never thought I'd get the chance to see him as Tony again.
Really glad I did though. He has improved so much since SNF Düsseldorf. Much
stronger on the vocal side. He and Kara worked so well together. Felix had
to wear a wig this time but thankfully it looked really good. I've seen some
bad wigs in the past so it was nice to see one that actually looked good for
a change.
The only
thing that bothered me a bit was the fact that he didn't really stand out
between the other Faces - at least not as much as you'd expect a Tony to.
Stephanie
Mangano: Kara Tremel
Once again a
totally brilliant performance. I just love her voice and she really plays
the character exactly as I'd expect Stephanie to be like.
Monty:
Mark Polak
He has
settled into his 3 parts really well and has started to use different facial
expressions for the different characters.
Had some
minor wig problems during Disco Duck - I was expecting his hair to fall off
his head at any second. ;)
Annette:
Anouk Maas
Didn't like
her at all this time I have to admit. Her acting was - in my opinion -
rather weak and her voice just isn't strong enough for the songs.
Bobby C:
Ross Antony
Wow - that
last note he hit in Tragedy was incredible!
All in all I
liked his performance although he still acts a bit too foolish from time to
time.
Gus: JJ
van Zon
I enjoyed his
perfromance a bit more than last time. It's obvious he likes playing this
character but still - he's no Gus in my eyes.
Joey:
Joris de Beul
Actually I
was expecting to see Shane as Joey that day... didn't mind to see Joris on
stage at least once though. ;)
Liked him as
Joey although he looked a bit "old" compared to the other Faces... maybe
more like a big brother.
Double J:
Gianni Meurer
No, no... and
no. I think Gianni is a fantastic performer... but he is definitely no
Double J. Sorry, but I really didn't enjoy his performance.
Frank Jr /
Jay: Marco Heinrich
He's perfect
for the part - an all in all great performance
Flo Manero:
Christine Dechantsreiter
Always nice
to see how well she has settled into the part. Great show!
Linda:
Julia Berger
Can't say one
bad thing about her performance... totally cute as Linda and full of energy
in her ensemble parts.
Doreen:
Karin Kern
It's hard to
review Karin's performance... she's perfect all the time. ;)
So all I can
say is: Well done... best Doreen ever!
Connie:
Alexandra Harfield
I didn't even
notice her this time. Unfortunatelly she didn't stand out at all.
Shirley
and Chester: Julia Lawrence and Robb Morris
I still miss
Robb's wig. ;)
Those 2 fit
together really well. Robb looked like he was having some minor problems
with his costumes.... the buttons on his shirt and even his trowsers seemed
to have a life of their own. :)
Maria:
Desiree Duarte
She looks so
beautiful in her costumes and she's so full of energy. Always a pleasure to
see her on stage.
Cesar:
Chris Beroiz *Special Guest Appearance*
Definitely
THE surprise of the evening. I'm glad I knew he'd be on stage before the
show started. Otherwise I have no idea what I'd have done if I had just seen
him walk on stage.
The guy is an
amazing dancer and his facial expressions on stage are priceless. And I
loved the ending of Salsation.
Really glad I
was there to see him on stage again!! :)
Ensemble
No swings on
stage this time. Won't mention everyone here.... good show by all of them
although I still don't like James Rees as ballet dancer in Disco Duck and I
think Nina Weiß didn't really stand out as granny in Disco Duck.
Special
appearance by Shane who was on stage for the disco scenes - love his new
haircut. :)
